AT&T retools data plans for new iPhone, iPad subs

AT&T has taken the wireless industry's first step toward charging for data services based on usage by eliminating monthly unlimited packages for new iPhone and iPad customers, the carrier announced. Subscribers will pay $15 a month for up to 200 megabytes of usage and $25 for up to 2 GB, the latter a $5 savings on AT&T's current plan. Also, AT&T will allow subscribers to new plans to tether their iPhones to other devices for an additional $20 a month.
