As host of 2014 Super Bowl, N.J. may back off sports betting

New Jersey announced plans to host the 2014 Super Bowl, and state lawmakers may put sports-betting legislation on the back burner. The National Football League opposes sports wagering, and the state may want to avoid argument with the NFL. The new Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., beat out venues in Miami and Tampa, Fla., for the Super Bowl bid.
