US Airways sees future merger, but not with a low-cost carrier

US Airways President Scott Kirby told pilots last week that the carrier is likely to merge with a major competitor -- but not with a smaller airline, as some analysts have suggested. "Further down the road, there's a high probability that US Airways will wind up merging with either United, Delta or American," said Kirby, noting that the largest combined carrier would still control only about 30% of overall air traffic.
