Zeachem begins construction of Ore. cellulosic ethanol plant

Zeachem has started construction on a demonstration plant in Boardman, Ore., that will produce cellulosic ethanol and ethyl acetate from Northwest poplar trees. The company has secured a $25 million federal grant and $34 million in private funding to help build the 250,000-gallon-per-year plant.
