DOT fines airlines for violating advertising rules

The Department of Transportation has levied fines against US Airways and Continental Airlines for failing to comply with advertising rules. The DOT said Continental's website did not include fuel surcharges on all of its listed fares. US Airways was fined for not disclosing some taxes and fees on airfares on its website.
