$1.6B Central Subway in San Francisco to start tunnelling work

Tunneling work is scheduled to start June 10 on the $1.6 billion Central Subway project, according to Ed Reiskin, director of transportation for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. The first of two 350-foot-long tunnel boring machines is already in place, while the second borer will arrive in a few months.
