Calif. city council might repurpose bridge into park

The Long Beach, Calif., City Council will discuss a proposal to turn a bridge into a park, rather than demolish it, when it is replaced through a highway-widening project. The 1,000-foot-long bridge park would connect with another park that is adding soccer fields, walking trails and play areas.
