Report: Improvements shown in health, well-being of U.S. youth

A new report by the Annie E. Casey Foundationon on the health and educational achievement of young people in the U.S. concludes that improvements were made in nearly every area between 1996 and 2001, but that one in six young adults are "disconnected," with no job and only a high school degree. The Kids Count report showed improvements in eight of 10 areas, with the most dramatic reductions seen in childhood poverty and teen birth rates.
