Korean stem cell pioneer seeks collaboration with Harvard

Hwang Woo Suk, who created the first line of embryonic stem cells by genetically altering a donated human egg, is negotiating with Harvard University authorities about collaborating on future research, including human trials using his stem cell line. Hwang is director of the stem cell laboratory at Seoul National University's College of Veterinary Medicine and has announced his intention to open a stem cell bank in Korea.
