Groups call on Western Australia to rethink biotech crop ban

The Western Australian Pastoralists and Graziers Association is asking the state government to reassess the moratorium on biotech crops. The move comes after Premier Alan Carpenter called for a national strategy for biotech food labeling and oversight. The WA Farmers Federation expressed similar views, saying that sufficient testing of biotech foods has been conducted and the state will lag behind if it does not introduce biotech crops.
