Russia presses for alternatives to dollar as reserve currencies

Because of changes the economic crisis has brought to the U.S., the world needs to be able to use a range of reserve currencies rather than being locked into the U.S. dollar, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said. "The current situation demands a bigger number of currencies which could be used for investing money and by banks, citizens and states," he said.
