Sandcastles, Great Wall of China use same building technique

Fragile sandcastles and the sturdy Great Wall of China have more in common than previously believed. Both depend on the rammed-earth technique of building construction, which moistens and compacts sand, gravel and clay. China developed the technique 4,000 years ago, and it is making a comeback today as a "green" building technique.
