Texas plans "Ike Dike" hurricane barrier for Galveston

Houston-area leaders hope to build a 60-mile hurricane barrier in Galveston, Texas. The 17-foot-high wall, nicknamed the "Ike Dike" after Hurricane Ike, would include floodgates to the Galveston Bay that would close during storms. The total cost of the proposed project is estimated at $2 billion to $4 billion.
