Air-rifle brucellosis vaccines for bison are proposed in Wyoming

About 50% of the bison population in the Yellowstone area in Wyoming is believed to be infected with brucellosis, a bacterial disease that causes livestock animals and wildlife to abort their young. To prevent bison from spreading the disease to cattle, Yellowstone National Park has recommended using air rifles to shoot bison with projectiles containing brucellosis vaccine.
