California residents ready to conserve water, poll says

California residents would alter their daily water habits and cut consumption to help curb long-term water shortages, according to a May phone survey by the Department of Water Resources and the Association of California Water Agencies. About 1,200 California residents participated in the survey, and 81% are convinced that the state faces chronic water shortfalls while 94% say the state must conserve more water.
