Expert talks about handling radiation doses

Increasing inquiries from both medical practitioners and patients on how to reduce radiation exposure from imaging tests indicate that the general public is starting to take notice of media coverage of the issue and that the medical community should exert further efforts on how to handle this situation, writes Australian imaging specialist Robert Maroszek in this opinion piece. One important step to assure optimal care using the lowest radiation dose is to employ skilled and trained technicians who have a broad knowledge of the latest imaging methods, Maroszek writes.
