HHS moves to put public health data to work

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said the agency is turning to application developers to help "put our public health data to work." The move is part of HHS' Community Health Data Initiative, designed to open up access to the agency's population and community health databases. "When information sits on the shelves of government offices, it is underperforming. We need to bring these data alive," Sebelius said.
