John Deere rolls off 500,000th combine

John Deere Harvester Works produced its 500,000th self-propelled combine in the East Moline, Ill., plant -- the culmination of more than 80 years of production. The company plans to display the 9870 model at the John Deere Pavilion in downtown Moline. "Reaching 500,000 self-propelled combines is a significant milestone for us," said Dennis Muszalski, Harvester Works' factory manager.
