School closing may open doors for students with hearing loss

Gallaudet School for the Deaf in St. Louis is closing its doors this summer as part of an ongoing push to integrate students with hearing impairments into mainstream schools. The editorial board of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch believes the move will not only benefit students with hearing impairments but also the communities at the three mainstream schools slated to enroll the Gallaudet students.
