Seadrill offers support for BP's spill-containment efforts

Seadrill's semi-submersible West Sirius rig will assist BP as it tries to seal a damaged Gulf of Mexico well. Seadrill was contracted with Devon Energy for work in the Gulf, but the rig was assigned to BP via a deal related to BP's purchase of Devon exploration assets. Aside from exploration services, the rig will also install a riser pipe and other equipment to contain the well leak.
