Texas city weighs in on pet store sales ban

A proposed ordinance in Austin, Texas, seeks to ban the retail sales of dogs and cats at in-city pet stores. The city's Animal Advisory Commission, which proposed the ban, has claimed that similar measures in Albuquerque, N.M., increased adoptions and reduced euthanasia at the city's animal shelter. The Austin City Council has yet to review the proposal.
