Accommodations being developed for computerized common-core tests

New computerized assessments that align with the common core standards are being developed with built-in accommodations for students in special education. Such accommodations could include special features that can be turned on and off to magnify text on the screen for students with visual impairments or give students with attention disorders the ability to highlight or obscure text. This proactive strategy is intended to replace previous policies that had educators retrofitting tests to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
