Cisco: Microsoft-Skype deal must support interoperability

Cisco Systems' effort to block Microsoft's acquisition of Skype in the European courts isn't about killing the deal, according to CEO John Chambers; it's about attaining interoperability and ensuring that Microsoft doesn't gain an unfair advantage in the unified-communications market, he says. Separately, Cisco says it's planning a core-routing platform with support for 1 terabit per second per slot.
