CPChem to boost ethylene capacity at Texas complex

Chevron Phillips Chemical is set to increase its ethylene manufacturing capacity at its Sweeny complex in Old Ocean, Texas. The expansion involves adding a new furnace to boost output by 200 million pounds annually. The company is also investing in a $5 billion Gulf Coast petrochemicals project, including a new ethane cracker in Baytown, Texas, and two polyethylene units in Old Ocean.
