How to create a language learning mindset

Communities, schools and businesses need to unite to support a culture of language learning in the U.S., writes Kathleen Stein-Smith, associate university librarian and adjunct faculty at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. However, she notes in this commentary, there are challenges, including late and inconsistent exposure to foreign languages. Stein-Smith suggests making policy changes and expanding language course offerings.
