IATA predicts U.S. carriers are better positioned to compete globally

U.S. airlines are seeking to improve their market share now that they are better positioned to compete globally and have invested in more fuel-efficient aircraft, said International Air Transport Association CEO Tony Tyler. "We're going to see more competition now internationally as the U.S. carriers operate from a stronger base," Tyler said.
