Increasing adult Rx drug use tied to more child poisonings

As the number of U.S. adults using prescription medications increased between 2000 and 2009, so did the rates of pediatric poisonings, particularly in children younger than 5, followed by 13- to 19-year-olds, a report in Pediatrics showed. The most common adult prescription drugs linked to child poisonings included hypoglycemics and beta blockers.
