Mortgage portfolio is latest Lloyds sale

Lloyds Banking Group announced a sale of a $5 billion portion of its U.S. housing portfolio to investors, including Goldman Sachs. The sale is part of an effort from Lloyds to raise capital reserves in response to British regulatory demands, and follows the sale of its private banking unit in Miami and its international private banking subsidiary. The sale is expected to be finalized this week.
