Plastic bags can protect preemies from hypothermia

Premature babies who were placed inside a plastic bag were 26% less likely to develop hypothermia within an hour after birth than those who got standard thermoregulation, a study from Zambia found. Although researchers were concerned that the plastic could cause an allergic reaction, no incidents were reported. The findings appear in the journal Pediatrics.
