Protocol reduces staff radiation exposure

A myocardial perfusion SPECT imaging protocol that blends detector technology, image reconstruction and stress-only imaging helped cut radiation exposure among health care workers by up to 60%, according to a report published in The Journal of Nuclear Medicine. The two-phase study used dosimeter badges to monitor radiation exposure of health personnel.
