Hospitals use mobility program to get ICU patients out of bed

Results from Franciscan Alliance’s Intensive Care Unit Early Mobility program show that from 50% to 60% of ICU patients are getting out of bed. The program also reduces ventilator use and lengths of stay. Regional coordinator Brooke Nack of Franciscan St. Anthony-Crown Point in Indiana said the goal is to get 75% of ICU patients mobile on day one in the unit, if possible.
