British city officials urge no more hot, sunny school outings

Concerned over the link between skin cancer risk and sun exposure, the Derby City Council has asked schools to postpone or cancel external activities, such as sports days and field trips, in periods of excessive sun. The council's guidelines urge that such activities be scheduled for times when the sun is at its lowest strength and temperatures are cool.
