The broadcast upfront market has begun

After a cautious start to the broadcast upfront, networks are beginning to sell their ad inventory, in some cases for slightly higher-than-expected rates, executives say. However, many analysts, including Jessica Reif Cohen of Merrill Lynch, expect broadcast's take to be equal to or lower than last year's.
