Massachusetts suspensions, expulsions soar

Last year, 1,890 Massachusetts students were suspended for 10 days or expelled, the highest number since discipline tracking began in 1995. Some blame the nearly 10% increase over last year's suspension and expulsion numbers on larger class sizes and reduced services for students with behavior problems.
