New HIPAA rule expected to prevent security breeches

The CMS is expected soon to introduce a new rule to boost security requirements on the HIPAA rule in order to prevent the type of security breeches involving laptops and other mobile computing devices seen recently. The changes are among at least a dozen that will pertain to health care IT.
