ATC relies on outdated technology as aviation demand grows

Little has changed with the nation's air traffic control system in the past two decades, experts say. Meanwhile, the number of flights in the U.S. is continuing to increase. In 2007, then-FAA Administrator Marion Blakey warned lawmakers that the technology updates too slowly and will not accommodate future demand.
