NCQA seeks comments on accreditation plans for wellness programs

The National Committee for Quality Assurance early next year plans to begin evaluating organizations that provide wellness and health management programs for businesses and health plans. NCQA will include a general accreditation program, certification for groups that offer components of wellness programs, and a separate accreditation for stand-alone weight-management or smoking-cessation programs. Public comment is being sought on the proposal.
