Senators support e-prescribing

Sens. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, have proposed e-prescribing provisions that would provide additional Medicare fees to physicians who adopt the technology, but would cut off payments in later years for those who fail to make the switch. The provisions, intended for inclusion in a larger Medicare bill, could benefit digital-prescribing technology firms, including Cerner Corp. and Allscripts Healthcare Solutions
