Upgraded HSPA gives AT&T's 3G net more zip

AT&T says that ongoing upgrades to its High-Speed Packet Access network have enabled it to boost download speeds to 1.7 Mbps on its 3G wireless network. When the wireless carrier completes its HSPA work by the end of June, it anticipates providing upload speeds of 1.2 Mbps, a 50 percent improvement over current peak performance.
