Yahoo! tries to chart its own path with new deals

Yahoo! has announced a series of deals reportedly aimed at helping the portal reassure investors of its ability to stand alone or to boost its value as it continues "ongoing, engaged" talks with Microsoft. The moves include joining the Right Media Exchange for remnant inventory, teaming up with Walmart.com to sell video and display ads and launching a unit to create online versions of Sunday newspaper circulars.
