Expert: Clinicians should get data from IT tools at point of care

Health IT solutions should provide physicians and other medical staff with pertinent data at the point of care, industry expert Marion Ball advised in an interview with Healthcare Informatics. Ball, who is a professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and a fellow at the IBM Research Center for Healthcare Management, also said current platforms force providers to adapt to vendors' systems instead of the opposite, and companies should include more input from clinicians in developing such products.
