World body calls on airlines to boost fuel efficiency by 2%

A climate change panel for the International Civil Aviation Organization is recommending "a global aspirational goal of 2% annual improvement in fuel efficiency of the international civil aviation in-service fleet." ICAO said its "aggressive" goal would amount to a 26% cumulative improvement in emissions levels by 2020.
