HFOV is effective for preemies, data analysis shows

Data from 10 clinical trials showed that high-frequency oscillatory ventilation was as effective as conventional ventilation for preterm infants. The report in The Lancet said even when infants were divided into subgroups, no one category benefited more or less from HFOV and that overall treatment was not affected by ventilator type or ventilation strategy.
