IHG strategy for Hotel Indigo brand shifts to major markets

InterContinental Hotels Group is expanding its Hotel Indigo upscale boutique brand into major markets, beginning with plans for a second location in New York. The new 175-room New York hotel, to be built on 38th Street on Manhattan's West Side, and IHG's strategy for the chain, which started out in smaller markets, is to also grow in major cities such as Los Angeles, Boston and Washington.
