Michigan district looks to hire more minority teachers

A Michigan school district is working to hire a more diverse teaching staff as its student population continues to become more diverse. When hiring, administrators are looking for cues that candidates are minorities, while still focusing on hiring qualified teachers. The cues include attendance at historically black colleges, high schools in urban areas and attendance at black churches.
