Tokyo-based Seven & I Holdings is on track to more than double the number of 7-Eleven stores in North America, and the chain could grow to as many as 30,000 stores in the region from 8,000, Chairman Toshifumi Suzuki said last week. The company has been buying small chain stores in the U.S. as part of its growth plan, and will likely make more acquisitions in the future. "We will raise the quality of operations, and we will go into the areas where we don’t have outlets," Suzuki said.
