After a checkup, Knoxville Zoo gorilla is ready for love

Wanto, a 36-year-old gorilla, underwent a physical exam and cardiac evaluation at the Knoxville Zoo this week to ensure he's healthy enough to breed. University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine veterinarian Rebecca Gompf, who helped examine Wanto, said he has high blood pressure, which will be treated. Wanto also has slight thickening of the left side of his heart, but he has been cleared to mate.
