Chemical firms face challenges in implementing GHS requirements

Chemical producers have much to do following the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's move to reconcile its 2012 Hazard Communication Standard with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, according to a recent analysis. By Dec. 1, U.S. workers who regularly encounter chemicals will be required to undergo training to better understand hazard information presented in safety data sheets.
