Dolled-up cows go viral

Show cows have long been primped and preened by 4-H competitors, but it wasn't until photos from Lautner Farms in Adel, Iowa, surfaced online that many lay observers were introduced to the softer side of cows. The animals are routinely washed, blow-dried and styled to make their fur plump up, creating a teddy-bear appeal, said Phil Lautner of Lautner Farms.
