Firm relies on crude-by-rail as $2B pipeline project loses ground

Rail service will be used to deliver oil from Texas as a proposed $2 billion Texas-California pipeline will not materialize due to lack of customer interest, according to Kinder Morgan. Crude-by-rail activity continues to increase as shipments in the first quarter rose more than 160% year-on-year, according to the Association of American Railroads.
